A correctional knitting club needed supplies. A local nonprofit was asked if anyone had yarn they no longer needed.

They came through.

Then came books from Grandpa's library. Supplies from Grandma's sewing room. Binders from a home office that found their way to a reentry center. Gym equipment left behind after a home sale. And a box of notebooks purchased when someone's mom got a little carried away during a sale.

On the other side were correctional programs full of people asking for opportunities and staff willing to provide them—sometimes missing something as simple as pens, workbooks, parenting books, or a yellow dry erase marker.

It became pretty obvious:

The resources were out there. They just weren't always connected to the people who could use them.
